ABOUT

Vanessa Haney is a New York-based artist whose practice includes painting, digital works, and photography. She received her MFA from Tyler School of Art and her BFA from Indiana University and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. A recipient of grants and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pollock Krasner Foundation, and the New York Foundation for the Arts, she has exhibited in one-person and group shows in New York and nationally.

January 17- March 10, 2023, Haney had several pieces in “Seeing Truth: Art, Science, Museums, and Making Knowledge” at the William Benton Museum of Art at the University of Connecticut.

2020: An image from the “Physik/Garden” series is the cover art for The Cambridge Companion to Queer Studies (Cambridge Companions to Literature). Edited by Siobhan Somerville. Cambridge University Press.

2019: Haney showed at Amos Eno Gallery, Brooklyn, NY, in “The Social Policing of Gender and the Criminalization of Queerness.”
